In Salerno, we are circled by mountains and surrounded by storms. Just a skip east of here, over Pakistan, the storms brew the most fascinating lighting. Horizontal strikes, within cloud, not too much precipitation, and strangely, very little thunder. The underbelly of the grey clouds wave like a still photo of an ocean surf. The weather does not seem to loom though, it just is. What a pleasure to watch it unfold.
Have I mentioned the birds here (please excuse me if I have)? They chirp through the night - like they too are on night shift, waiting for midnight chow, or waiting for the TOC to tell them to wrap it up due to the inclemency of the evening weather. How juxtaposed is a chirp in the dark - far stranger than you might imagine.
This is a picture of Mr. J, next to his room door. You can see the rising sun angry bird. Mr. J has also painted all the nose art on our aircraft here - they look great!
Please pray for the soldiers in our unit, that the Lord would help each soldier cope with their unique stresses.
Please pray for Mr. K's family, his house was struck by lighting, and they are in the process getting some electrical components replaced.

What a joy! I got a surprise book in the mail from my niece and nephews (I had been forewarned but memory fades you know). It is a book about Calculus. Which is great, because this is what I am studying in the down time I have here. Better yet, it is a FUN book about calculus (I know, I did't think they existed either - but my nephews say this series is great - I shall put it to the test).
Thanks a ton B, E, J, L, S & G!
I have pretty much completed setting up my electronics lab here (although one is never complete with a lab). I received a bunch of refill parts which I had ordered from Jameco and was organizing them.

Thank you for the lovely Mother's Day card. You are very kind to send me one. I will treasure it always.
