There is a peculiar appeal to living at night. Not that I were ever dead at night, but I was dead to it - sleeping.
I am thankful for the moon and the illumination it brings. It has been so bright lately that it feels like a second sun. The warmer temperatures that make the day livers sweat, fade with the sunset and leave cool light breezes for me to enjoy.
I have learned a new game that the crews at Shank play - it is called FUNO, which is an abrasive version of UNO, about as near contact sport you can get playing a card game. The rules are tweaked for maximum screw-over-your-buddy-ness. You can gander what the F stands for. Cheating is permitted as long as it goes unnoticed and if you are not looking at your neighbors hand and announcing the color and number of the last card, than you have already lost.
I am thankful for books - they are like old school virtually reality - sometimes I leave my life and find my self on an authors whim.
I just finished reading Dracula. Mr. H had been reading it, so I read it too (Yes, I am a copy cat. No, I am not stalking him.) It is an adventure. Far more strange and bizarre then I had ever anticipated. I recommend it to you - it is a free book on Kindle. The characters are not very realistic in this story; they are all "heroized" - without flaw, noble and good intentioned - nothing like real people. Frankenstein, on the other hand, was full of real people, but not nearly the adventure that Dracula brings.
Generous random people send toiletries to troops in boxes that find themselves in our flight office. So when I forgot my shampoo in the shower one day, I had a quick replacement - albiet made for kids. The label is pure lies though, I swear it burns my eyes!
Please pray for the families of Ohio soldiers deployed in Afghanistan.

Did you get your letter from me yet? The one that I sent about a month ago? I hope it encouraged your heart. Love, YFMIL
