Hotel Shank-ifornia

It seems that Shank has turned into an extended stay.  Which is fine.  Like I have said numerous times previously, while I miss my unit there are certain benefits to Shank.

• The Pool
• The Jacuzzi
• The Sauna (I love Saunas - I want to build my own some day)
• The weekend deep sea fishing trips
• The artichoke filled fresh water salmon fillets - only on Fridays and Tuesdays though :( 

So I am content.

I am thankful for being switched to days.  Actually seeing where I am flying is a pleasure in itself.

I am thankful that all the mail I had at Salerno is being moved up to Shank - it will be a mini Christmas for me, thanks all.

I am also thankful for music, I have been jamming out to a lot lately in my room (probably to the chagrin of my tent-mates).  Music is a great cure for feeling down.  How can't you cheer up when listening to your favorite tunes?

You may have heard the song Hotel California by the Eagles, a  "place where you can check-out but never leave".  Anyway Mr J jokingly told me I must be staying at Hotel California as I couldn't seem to get out of here.  So I figured it fitting to throw this up on my door.

Below is a flow chart I saw in the maintenance hooch here.  Its a little hard to read, but pretty funny.

Please pray for the unti that is coming to replace the pilots at Shank, that they can have a safe trip to fun filled Afghanistan.
