Combat Stash

Shank has been pleasant.  My only job here is to fly, so I have it quite easy.

While I do miss my crews back at Sal, I am getting comfortable with folks up here at Shank.

I am thankful for the internet and Skype.  It has been great to see E dancing with her friends and tele-sit at the dinner table with my family. I am also grateful for the support my friends and family have given me.

Popular deployment culture has it that "...a mustache is half the battle".  I can only do about three weeks before I throw in the towel.  Just not my style.

I have been reading Snow Crash, a book my brother recommended.  It is a SciFi book in the near future - fascinatingly strange, in some respects very possible and in others very not.  The main character is a computer geek who is the best samurai sword fighter in the world.  It has taken some strange twists, I enjoy how the author takes time to describe certain features of his imaginary world.

If you could please pray for my bro R, his back is hurting and he is really dumb :)
(just kidding - he is brilliant)

And if you could pray for the families of units soldiers, that this time would go quick.
